Back to school.

Our little girls, who were basically born yesterday and are just far too young to be attending school, started 2nd grade and (full-day) Kindergarten.

Don't they look so stinking cute?! I know you get what you get and don't throw a fit, but I absolutely love having two little girls! Matching pink glitter shoes and bows.
Whoever decided that full-day kindergarten was a good idea? Whatever happened to the half-day option?! Y'all should be ashamed of yourselves.

As much fun as our summer break was, they were way excited to go back. Both ended up in the same class as their very best friends, and with the teachers we specifically requested. These teachers are terrific, and we are looking forward to a great year for our girls.

So what's a homemaker to do with a day to herself?

Well... Instead of my usual agenda of soap operas and bon-bons, I volunteered for 1.5hrs with the PTO, completed a load of laundry, vacuumed the entire house, made the beds, returned 3 phone calls for volunteer stuff, scheduled myself a haircut, emptied and reloaded the dishwasher, emptied trash & recycling, went grocery shopping, dropped something off at the Post Office, dropped off paperwork for the girls' dance class, bathed the dog, scrubbed the bathtub & commodes, and had supper ready and a special dessert in the oven by 3pm. Plus some other stuff.

Happy Back-to-School!
