4 weeks and 5 days

Taken during our PCS to Arizona.

This is all the time that is left until we move.

New home, new post, new school, and new friends are on the horizon.

We always try to look at each PCS* as an adventure; it is a chance for our family to challenge ourselves, see new places, and grow closer. But this will be the most difficult move by far. We really settled here. It felt like home as soon as the boxes were getting unpacked. We loved having family close by, Big Sister started school, we found a church family, etc. Not to mention, Hubby is scheduled to deploy from this next duty station in 2013. We will cross that particularly rickety, wobbly rope bridge when we get to it.

*This Army acronym means permanent change of station, as in duty station for the soldier. Except that no duty station is permanent, and if anything is quite temporary. We have yet to stay in any one location longer than 28 months, and in fact, have moved as quickly as 18 months. This will be our fifth move in seven years. But who's counting.

So please forgive me if I'm away from the blog a bit over the next month. I do have some blogs drafted, just in need of pictures, and a few pictures in need of corresponding stories, etc., but will be busy with my last bit of P.I.E. Co-President duties, swim lessons, the end of the school year, organizing and de-cluttering before the movers come, visiting with family and friends, and just enjoying our last stretch of time here.

Our little family has quite a lot to be thankful for. Even including the bazillion boxes I will shortly unpack in a strange, faraway new land... where (fingers crossed!) the clothes dryer is not located next to the dishwasher.

good luck with all that is to come! i totally feel you on the moving - this next move for us is the first one that doesn't have an end time and it is almost scary to me to think we could be there indefinitely. i wish our times in arizona overlapped. :(
