Tea-Birthday Party

Big Sister turned 6 years old last week. Six. Seis. *Sigh*
All dressed up and excited to spend her birthday at school. I made these treats to send into her class: marshmallow lollis dipped in a pink vanilla candy shell with pink/purple sprinkles on top. And Daddy surprised her by joining her in the cafeteria for lunch.

But the previous afternoon, on our early release day, we had a little celebration for Sis with three of her closest friends (Little Sis being one of them).

A simple tea party, with tea, cookies, tea sandwiches and cake.
In actuality it was decaf cider with lots of milk, fancy cookies from a Pepperidge Farm box, and PBJ's and PBH's cut in triangles with the crusts off. But the girls oohed and ahhed upon walking in, and really liked the fancy tea cups and table cloth.
We enjoyed our treats.
We sang Happy Birthday to a beaming little girl.
And then we played until it was time to go home.

It was just lovely.
