...was good. The drive was nothing compared to the fantastical tantrums that awaited us in (public) Flagstaff by the girls, by hey... Some days are just like that, right? Or, weekends? The following takes place on Saturday morning and afternoon, just after our arrival.

We arrived Saturday morning, and made a brief stop at Target to replace Little Sister's special pink blankie that Mommy forgot at home, 6 hours away. Rookie mistake!! Must have been too busy packing the van 'to a T.' Then I took the girls for a drive around the ol' college campus, pointing out where their Daddy and myself had lived, taken classes, worked, etc. Big Sister kept asking, "Where were me and Sis?" I told her she was just a blink in our eye!

Then onto Wheeler Park, for a girls only picnic lunch, spinning, hide-and-seek and exploring!

Little Sister thinks that as long as she can't see you, you can't see her.

As Big Sister later related to her Daddy, "We found about a hundred ladybugs!"

Afterward, we met the Hubby at Oregano's, this
amazing little Italian restaurant right off campus. Highly, highly recommended by us and pretty much every food-related magazine in the state. The girls played with dough and shared in their first 'Pizza-Cookie.'

I'm pretty sure the heavens opened and angels sang the Hallelujah chorus the moment this dessert was invented.

Later, after a family nap session in our hotel, we went downtown to Heritage Square for the Higher Ground Brass Band's performance.
More pictures of that to follow, but I leave you with this teaser...

In the photo above is a certain 5 yr. old daughter whom, less than 24 hours later and upon hearing her mother tell her the word, "No," would throw her beloved Bun-Bun against a brick building, scream, "AAAHH!", and proceed to throw herself flat onto a concrete sidewalk in the middle of the Armed Forces Day parade in downtown Flagstaff, thus bursting into a tear-filled tantrum that would last at least 20 minutes.
