Our Girls

Our girls are artists, in many forms.
While Mommy spent most of Saturday at the multi-family yard sale, Daddy and the girls 'hung out.' Hanging out with Daddy includes, but is not limited to, playing, eating, bathing, screaming (for fun) and coloring.

The picture above, of a rainbow with blue sky and orange grass, has an explanation by Hannah with it. As was dictated to Mommy:
"The word 'stop' is there so when you get to the rainbow you don't walk into it. Because you would get the colors all over yourself. All over your face. But it will wash off in the rainstorm."

The beautiful pictures are prominently, and proudly, displayed on our fridge. Our art wall is temporarily shut down, as we are anticipating a new wall... in a new house... in a new state... in a few weeks.
Big Sister's art skills and her overall blossoming maturity are blowing us away this summer. This kid is truly something special.
Not that we're partial.

Last week, Mommy received a coupon for a free clothing item (! up to $5!) from a children's consignment shop outside of post. So one morning while Big Sister was at summer camp, Little Sister and I went shopping. The idea was to get Big Sis a 'new' sundress for a wedding we were attending this weekend, but no sundress was to be found.

Instead, we discovered some gently used ballet slippers in Big Sister's current size. Thus, Little Sis inherited her sister's former pair. Now both our girls have ballet slippers, and they were very excited to dance around the house wearing them together.

Every single day this week.

Do you have any idea how adorable little girl feet look in ballet slippers?

What did Big Sister wear to the wedding, you ask? Well, I'm still kicking myself for not getting a picture. But imagine this: her purple and green fairy princess dress (with the ruffled tu-tu) from last Halloween. And on her feet? Her 'new' ballet slippers. Just too darling!!
