Over the river and through the woods!

We are back in our little home in Kentucky.  We had quite a trip!  First, we drove from our home in Fort Knox to visit Amanda's extended family in St. Louis, MO.  Then, we flew from St. Louis to Phoenix, AZ to visit Eric's parents, brothers, spouses and children, as well as more of Amanda's extended family.  We returned the same way we came.  We are quite fortunate our girls are such seasoned travels.  They did really amazing on both flights, spoiling us rotten.  Driving, however, has never been Amelia's strong suit.  Despite our planning to overlap drive time during nap time, our abundance of snacks, and looping "Curious George" twice, Amy still threw some nasty screaming fits.  The dear does not like long drives.  But we made it!!
All in all, our adventure took 2 full weeks.  Now we need a vacation!
Our visits were full of family, more family, friends, food, photographs, presents, more presents, more food and friends, and packing.  Lots of creative packing.  It was a fantastic Christmas, and we feel really fortunate to have been able to share it with so many beautiful people, including our darling girls.  Hannah was quite aware of the holiday this year, giving us even more enjoyment.  Amelia seemed more thrilled were her gifts this year, but still enjoyed playing with the bows and wrapping paper, too.
Thank you very much to Eric's parents, Steve and Michelle, for hosting our noisy and sleep-sensitive clan for 8 whole days!
We will be spending the next few days returning to our Kentucky routine, taking down holiday decor, and catching up on laundry.  Lots of laundry...
