And cold. Hubby usually works more evenings and weekends this time of year, and I am working more recently as well. When we do have family time together we are prone to spending it at home in stretchy pants with a movie, board game(s) or hot cocoa. Or all of the above.
We were feeling fancy free this Saturday evening after conquering the last of the major holiday errands in record time without standing in any lines, thus decided to indulge in our favorite local pub's beer cheese and take in the quaint downtown festivities.
The evening prior both girls managed to spill their hot cocoas on their heavy coats, so we were scraping together layers while their winters' finest were in the wash. At least this year they've agreed to wear blue jeans when the temperatures dip below 40 degrees.Little Sister could hardly contain her excitement; she was running all over, dancing, singing and exclaiming over everything. You know, her default setting.
Earlier this week we attended a Christmas concert with Hubby, and not only did she fall out of her chair, she audibly farted during a pause in the music, and shouted, "Bravo!" following her favorite songs. Then later this week, upon blowing out the Advent candles, not only did Sis get wax on the table, in her hair and on her glasses, she somehow managed to get taco meat stuck in the candle.
Spunk? She has it in spades. That girl cracks me up!
Big Sis will stop and smile for a picture, just as long as she's not too busy reading. Can hardly believe this darling young lady is celebrating her ninth Christmas, soon to be followed by her ninth birthday. Too soon.
Four more days of school, and then two whole, entire blissful weeks with my three favorite peeps (plus a few more!), and nothing but games, Christmas cookies, movies, crafts, puzzles, cocoa and stretchy pants on the agenda.
