Big Sister is having an awesome year so far. We are very much enjoying having a big 7 year old lady in the family! In every bit of free time, Sis is still our crafty, creative, journal & story-writing bookworm. Currently, her favorite books are
The Boxcar Children,
The American Girl series,
The Little House series,
Cam Jansen mysteries, and plenty of non-fiction about animals (esp. horses). Her career aspirations now include author/illustrator, as well as teacher and mother. She also has an especially goofy sense of humor and a mean armpit fart. Courtesy of her father, thankyouverymuch.
First grade is going very well, though she is quite excited for a summer off before beginning second grade in the fall. We are hoping she and her very best friend will be in the same class together, as requested. They are two darling hairbowed peas in a pod, and we love it.

In the meantime, she has requested a summer agenda full of swim lessons, homemade glow-in-the-dark bubbles, soccer camp, park time, homemade popsicles, craft dates and sleepovers with friends, story times and weekly trips to the public library,
and continuing guitar lessons.

And look! See what a big, sweet 7 year old girl can do?! Get her ears pierced!

As begged for, until we had discussed and exhausted all possible reasons why we didn't want her to get her ears pierced just yet... but maybe when she turned ten... for no other reason than we simply didn't want her to look older... We finally caved, and she was so brave and excited.

We love her so very, very much!
