Family Weekend Extravaganza

Hubby, whose schedule has been busy since arriving here, had a 4-day weekend recently.

We took advantage of it, and the predicted cloud coverage, to hit the Nashville Zoo.
We packed in a picnic lunch, and sat in an air-conditioned cafe to feast on it for a midday break.
While the girls adored seeing the meerkats, three baby clouded snow leopard cubs, and brushing the goat (Little Sis named her Penny), the girls said their favorite-most-favorite part of the day was the awesomely huge, fortress like playground, complete with epically proportioned whirly-twirly slides, a bridge, hidden staircases, a bouncy area and climbing nets over a pond.

We, too, were pretty darn impressed. We spent the last hour of our day there, and look forward to going back many, many times.
Just because she has to walk to the beat of her own drum. Or brick pavers, as it were.

Our weekend agenda also included, but was not limited to, hitting our fave local brewery to split the freshly made soft pretzels with zesty beer cheese appetizer. Oh. So. YUMMY.

A fabulous time was had by all.
