Hubby's New Job

On Sunday, we attended a Helldorado Days parade in Tombstone, AZ. The full marching band marched during the parade.

We began with the anthem. Do you sometimes have just as difficult a time standing still as your children? I really wanted a picture of the man saluting next to the flag, though.

The girls were wild about the horses.

And the positively adorable Sophie, who we were 'parked' next to for the duration of the parade.

And the parade candy.

The girls somewhat recently had the epiphany that "attendance + parades = CANDY."

Watching her Daddy march toward us. Or maybe she ate a candy when my back was turned.

It's not every day you see the town sheriff and a posse of witnesses marching the outlaw to the jail cell. The costumes were terrific!

Since Daddy finished the parade before the parade was done, he joined us for the remainder. Big Sister had the best seat in the house! But two minutes later she realized she was no longer withing grabbing distance of the next round of free candy. Down she went.

Taking a break between performances.

Then the Higher Ground Brass Band remained, and played for an hour or so in the gazebo at Tombstone City Park. We sat and ate a picnic lunch, and the girls ran circles around the park for the duration of our time there. I swear, they only had one piece of candy each. Ah... to be young again...

Hubby really enjoys performing with his new small group, Higher Ground. There are seven members, and they have quite a fun sound together! They perform everything from Michael Jackson to Mighty, Mighty Bosstones to a rousing rendition of the Sesame Street theme song.

These pictures are from a Higher Ground gig in the Prescott Town Square. We were unable to go, but Hubby's parents attended! Living in Arizona has already provided us so many opportunities to be with family, and we are very grateful for that.

The girls are so proud of their Daddy. They love to dance to the music and watch Daddy perform.

They're not the only ones! Grandma got quite a kick out of this lady, and even gave me a great impersonation!

Love you, Hubby!
