Zoo Montana
We visited the Zoo three times during our visit with the grandparents. First, for Dr. Papa's company picnic, second with just Papa on his day off, and lastly with the whole gang again. The Zoo is small, but very nice. There is a lot of space dedicated to natural plant life, playgrounds, a petting zoo area, a beautiful Sensory Garden (a fabulous place for picnicking and throwing around a football), and of course, animals!
Papa gave the girls some hankies, which they proceeded to carry everywhere during our trip. Everywhere, not just the Zoo. Here they are being featured in our own personal parade.

Papa and Little Sister.
The North American River Otters were our favorite. They were so animated and engaging. The pipe in their tank wasn't working properly, so their water was a little green, but they didn't seem to mind too much. We sat on a bench, ate a snack, and watched them swim for a while.
The Griz! This is about as close as you ever want to be to a Grizzly Bear. We heard the bear before we saw it. This guy, or gal, was banging on the metal door trying to get to something on the other side. If memory serves, it was about lunch time...
The paw print of the Griz must have been about a foot in diameter.
Big Sis requested I take her photo sitting on a rock. I gladly acquiesced.
The girls in front of the Red Pandas, Taylor and Zoe. Theses are the animals GrandMia and Papa adopted on behalf of the girls; we received stuffed animals, pictures and an adoption certificate. We used it as an opportunity to study more about Red Pandas.
Unfortunately, we did not get a clear look at our little friends on any of our visits. Each time they were napping, snuggled up together in their tree house.

My little animals!

Big Sister in the tunnel that connects the two playgrounds. After several shots she asked me, "Mommy, can I walk through now?"
Big Sister waiting oh so patiently in line for a balloon flower. (During the company picnic, there were a few clowns present doing face painting, balloon animals, and making snow cones, as well as barbecue, desserts, jump houses, etc). After about 25 or so minutes she started getting antsy, especially when a big kid--who was old enough to know better--tried to cut in front of us in line. Twice. With only 10 minutes left until closing. I went a little Momma-Bear on his bottom (which the parents behind me appreciated as well), and my sweet girl got a red flower with a green stem, just as she wished.
