Hannah's Birthday Party

We had a small gathering at our house for Hannah's 4th birthday.  We invited two couples and their children to attend, fellow band families we've come to know and like.  We fed the kids some homemade cheese pizza, carrot sticks, and the grown-ups ate Eric's famous chicken enchiladas and salad.  Don't ask Eric about the lime cilantro rice!  After we had some birthday cake.  Hannah, of course, wanted chocolate cake with pink icing.  (That's four out of four birthdays now...  )  And we also served some delicious Bryers chocolate and vanilla ice cream.  No presents, by request, but we had all the kids make birthday crowns to wear for the party.  There was a lot of glitter, jewels, puffs, foam letters and stickers to clean up after!
Hannah blowing out her candles, with a little help from our friend, Max.
I made Hannah a (reusable!) fabric celebration garland this year.  It stretches about 15 ft. long, or more...  (This is one of many fantastic craft ideas I got from Soule Mama, and her wonderful book, The Creative Family).  You'll be seeing this at every birthday party, I hope.
Hannah's birthday cake.  Chocolate with home made strawberry cream cheese icing.  And Mommy attempted to use an icing bag this year!  Not so hot... tasted good, though!

The goody bags for friends, which contained some home made heart crayons and 3 sheets of stickers in our favorite characters: Sesame Street, Dora, My Little Pony and Sponge Bob.  (Though, we don't actually watch Sponge Bob, but all the kids like him these days...)
Notice how we neglected to get any pictures of us with the birthday girl?  Or of her in her birthday crown?  Or of her and sister?  Or the table set up in all it's pink and purple ballooned, flowered, decorated glory?  Yeah, I did, too.  After all the guests left.  Maybe next year?
